Hill Country Heart

We never set out to buy a vineyard or join the Texas wine industry. For more than 20 years, our family had simply been visiting the Texas Hill Country, always dreaming of owning a little piece of land in the Loyal Valley community. When a 13-acre tract became available, we jumped at the chance… only to find a small vineyard right in the middle of it. We knew we couldn’t be the ones to let it die, so for the past decade, we’ve worked hard alongside some incredible people to keep it thriving.

At first, we sold our Texas Hill Country grapes to other wineries, but in recent years we’ve proudly begun crafting our own wine under the Loyal Valley Vineyards label. Today, we grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre, and Tannat grapes, producing bold, distinctive Texas wines that reflect the character of this unique region.

The dog on our label is our beloved dog Sam.  He is an 8 year old Blue Lacy that loves to sit overlooking the vineyard or next to Mark on the RTV while working in the vineyard.  He is UBT-3 certified and spends much of the fall tracking deer that hunters are unable to locate after shooting.  He has his own facebook page - SAM- the Deer Dog.
